Topic 6 – The Truth About How To Get Six Pack Abs

Firstly…

For those following this Blog sorry that it has been two weeks since our last post!  As many of you know who follow me on social media, I have been in Mexico on vacation for my birthday (where I also shot my 2014 Calendar), then went straight to Dallas on business and then straight to Vegas for the 2013 UFC Fan Expo (which was amazing!) and UFC 162.  UFC 162 was an INCREDIBLE event and quite simply stunning for anyone in the UFC world.  Watching Chris Weidman dethroning the greatest fighter of all time, Anderson Silva, to win the Middleweight belt was a historical moment.   Everyone who was there live in Vegas really got to experience a monumental sporting event and for those watching at home I’m sure it was equally exciting.   It’s hard to fathom a UFC where Anderson Silva isn’t the Middleweight Champion and the pound for pound best fighter on earth.   He will, however, at least for the foreseeable future be the greatest of all time and a legend of the sport.   Congrats to both of them.

So, apologies again that this Blog is a week late, but being in four different cities in three weeks – it has been a very busy time!!!!

The Truth About How To Get Six Pack Abs

In the world of nutrition and fitness, there is no more coveted an achievement than having a great stomach.   For men, a great stomach means having 4, 6 or 8 clearly defined abdominal muscles (how many you have depends on how low your body fat percentage is and also the genetically determined layout of the fat deposits over your abdominal muscles).  Having a great stomach for women means having a midsection that is lean, toned and defined.  However, most women genetically can’t or voluntarily don’t develop a 6 pack as the very low body fat percentages required to show this level of definition are very hard for a women to reach and can actually have negative side effects if maintained long term.   Rather, very lean women will develop three vertical lines of definition running down the middle and both sides of their stomach.  This is the equivalent of a female “six pack”.

There is no doubt that a man having great Abs is among the most, if not the most, physically attractive body traits for women.   There is also no doubt that men look at a women’s stomach and are attracted to a flat, toned stomach vs. a gut or a bulge.   So it makes sense that having a great stomach is one of the goals of most people who are working out and “dieting” (you should never, ever be “dieting”, if you don’t know why go back and read the important reasons why in previous Blogs).

My Abs are in the photo attached to this Blog.  My co-contributor to this Blogs Abs (who is the source of most of this information and has been responsible for the complete transformation in my body over the last year) are in the photo below.   We both look like this year round.  We both work out three or four times per week.  We both eat as much food as we want every day (the right type of food actually makes you lose fat and build lean muscle, read the previous blogs if you don’t understand why).  Most importantly, we both are natural mesomorph / endomorphs so we were not “born this way” with good genes.  This Blog is about how to achieve similar results by doing things smart, not hard.
